It comes following the deaths of two children killed when ikea furniture tipped over. One of those children was from west chester and now his family is suing the furniture giant saying a repair kit now offered to anchor furniture to the wall is too little too late. His mother says the boy died in february 2014 after an ikea dresser simply to this one tipped over and killed him. This isnt a problem a concern that is well known and it is long past the time when Companies Like ikea address this problem. Reporter according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission a child dies every two weeks after a piece of furniture or appliance falls on them its called a tip over. And in ikeas Statement Wednesday the company acknowledged two deaths in 2014 including colins and three others from other ikea furniture since 1989. About 7 million chests and 20 million other ikea chests and dressers are part of the nationwide repair program. The company is not accepting returns but will give out free kits to help anchor the furniture to the wall. This is the official manual to put the dresser together. Under warnings it says clearly fixing devices for the wall are not includeed. Since different wall materials require different types of fixing devices. The family wants to change that for good. You must must secure it to the wall or get that piece of furniture out of your house. Shes behind bars in jail tonight. New tonight authorities have requested a second autopsy of sandra bland the woman who died in a texas jail cell because they say the first autopsy was defective. Meanwhile evidence shows guards new bland was a suicide risk. A Waller County jail intake form shows bland check yes when asked whether she had tried to kill herself in the last year. 28yearold was found dead in her jail cell last week. Police say she used a trash bag to hang herself. It happened three days after she was arrested during a traffic stop for an alleged lane change violation. Blands family says the video proves the arrest was unnecessary. Get out of the car i will light you. There was little reason that can be gleaned from the dash cam why sandy had to be thrown to the ground and hurt.
