With, that the 54yearold former doctor was ordered to serve as much as 175 years in prison for abusing young female athletes. Following days of searing testimony, the judge told nassar he doesnt deserve to walk outside a prison ever again. Heres dr. Jon lapook. Ive just signed your death warrant. Reporter after 156 victims had addressed their abuser, judge rosemarie aquilana got her turn. Your decision to assault was precise, calculated, manipulative. Reporter before aquilana imposed the sentence, larry nassar addressed her and his victims. The depth and breadth of how sorry i am for what has occurred. Reporter judge aquilana did not buy nassars apology, reading out loud parts of the letter he had written to her last week. What i did in the state cases was medical not sexual. The media convinced them that everything i did was wrong and bad. They feel i broke their trust. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Reporter janet told nassar his treatments were not medical, and reminded him, he had admitting wrongdoing in his plea deal. Because are you guilty, arent you . Reporter as the procession of victims came to a close, Rachael Denhollander called for the maximum sentence. So i ask how much is a little girl worth . I submit to you that these children are worth everything. Reporter she was the first to publicly accuse nassar of sexual abuse in a 2016 Indianapolis Star article. You started the tidal wave. You are the bravest person i have ever had in my courtroom. Reporter Kaylee Lorincz says she was only 13 years old when nassar first abused her. You need to look at me and listen. I only hope that when you get a chance to speak, you tell us who knew what and when they knew it. Reporter nassars abuse did not occur in a vacuum. A culture was in place where children were afraid to say no to a grownup and where complaints were not taken seriously. As judge aquilana said today, there needs to be a massive investigation to find out how this happened. Glor it is still hard to believe all of this went on for so long. Jon, thank you very much. Glor what about a possible interview with Robert Mueller . Reporter the president said, i would love to do that and as soon as possible. We asked what does that mean . He said, two to three weeks pending advice from his white House Attorneys and the president said, i would do it under oath. Glor all right, major garrett, thank you very much. In the special counsels search for answers, he may be interested in a question the president asked the acting f. B. I. Director. Here is cbs news justice reporter paula reid. Reporter the conversation is significant because special counsel can the mule is investigating possible obstruction of justice in the firing of james comey. The ousted f. B. I. Director says the president told him in an oval office meeting, i need loyalty. I expect loyalty. Asking mccabe about his vote could suggest the president was also seeking his loyalty. Wendy wehle, a former federal prosecutor, was part of the whitewater investigation of president bill clinton. When we start politicizing our branch of government that deals with prosecuting and investigating crimes, then our democracy starts to crumble. Reporter while mccabe remains number two at the f. B. I. , cbs news has also learned that attorney general Jeff Sessions has been pressuring current f. B. I. Director Christopher Wray to fire mccabe, but wray has resisted. And i think that theres a big concern among the folks at davos as to whether or not theres going to be some retaliation. You make a big move like this, you suspect somethings going to come back and hurt us, that would be essentially a tariff on american exporters. Obviously, not very good. President trump has to walk a fine line at davos. Hes got to deliver a speech that absolutely supports what hes done, but hopefully pulls those nerves down a little bit so that there is no reaction, and we dont see any sort of economic repercussions.
