Laden Dancehall entertainer Laden was fined $2,000 when he appeared in the St Elizabeth Parish Court on Wednesday to answer to the charge of disobeying a constable's command. Laden, whose given name is Okeefe Aarons, pleaded guilty to the charge, apologised to the court and to the police officer, and was fined $2,000 or five days imprisonment. He and his two co-accused also appeared in court to answer to the charge of breaching the Disaster Risk Management Act, but the Clerk of Courts offered no evidence in relation to the matter, so the charge was withdrawn. Aarons returns to the Gun Court Division of the St Elizabeth Circuit Court on December 15, 2020, for sentencing in relation to illegal possession of firearm and ammunition charges, for which he pleaded guilty last week along with the charge of failing to stop on the request of the police in relation to an incident in October.
