LARA LARA Issues Cease & Desist Order to Mount Mancelona Ski Resort in Northern Michigan Ski lift has no permit to operate; deemed unsafe upon inspection Media Contact: LARA Communications 517-335-LARA (5272) March 1 5, 2019 - LARA’s Bureau of Construction Codes (BCC) issued a Cease & Desist order against Mount Mancelona located at 2497 Ski Run Rd., Mancelona, MI to cease and desist from operating a ski lift without a permit, in violation of the Ski Area Safety Act. An investigation prompted by a complaint, disclosed violations of the Ski Area Safety Act: 1) not possessing a permit to operate a ski lift; and 2) a LARA inspection found the ski lift to be hazardous or unsafe.
