The Las Cruces movie, years in the making, was shown for a large audience for the first time Thursday with a red carpet premiere at Amador Live. “Walking with Herb" — filmed in Las Cruces in 2018 — is based off the 2015 novel of the same name by Joe Bullock, of First American Bank in Las Cruces. The book was adapted into a screenplay by the late Tony Award winner Mark Medoff, also a longtime New Mexico State University professor, and was directed by Medoff's son-in-law Ross Marks, the executive director of the Las Cruces International Film Festival and NMSU professor.
