Lawyers observe black day against junior judge elevation to SC July 29, 2021 LAHORE: The legal fraternity Wednesday observed “black day” to protest against the proposal floated again before the Judicial Commission for elevation of Sindh High Court’s junior judge to the Supreme Court. Speaking at a general house meeting of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, the lawyers said the proposal to elevate a junior judge was in violation of the apex court’s judgment famously known as Al-Jihad Trust and Asad Ali cases. They said if the Supreme Court violated its own decisions how others would comply with its decisions. They demanded the apex court to honour its judgments and follow the principle of seniority in the elevation of judges.
