In her recent op-ed (Leader Post Feb. 5), Nav Canada spokesperson Heather McGonigal plays a classic bait-and-switch by consistently avoiding the real issue around the imminent closure of the Regina air traffic control tower.

The one and only issue is that the loss of the control tower will mean fewer flights to the Regina airport which would have innumerable negative effects on the quality of life of Regina citizens and the ability of our city to recover economically from the pandemic. But McGonigal doesn’t want to talk about that.
