The preservation of culture and traditions has been identified as playing a great role in ensuring that the unique identity of a society is not lost, thereby encouraging generational transfer. Also, taken into cognisance is the fact that the culture and traditions of a people are the foundations upon which every society is built. This assertion was made by Oba Aderemi Adedapo, the Olojudo of Ido-Osun, while addressing members of the 2021 Batch A, Stream 1 National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) during the traditional lecture at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Ede, Osun State. Oba Adedapo encouraged the corps members to learn various interesting attributes of the Yoruba culture especially the language, adding that doing this would expose them to the beauty of its civilisation.
