WLRN Despite COVID-19, tourists have continued to come to Key West and drink. Some say the pandemic is an opportunity to re-evaluate the island's hard-partying ways. Like a lot of people, Dawn Wilder first saw Key West as a tourist. "Oh my goodness, we drank far more than we ever did back home," she said. When she moved to Key West, she realized it wasn't only the tourists who drank a lot. Drinking during the day — and drinking every day — is pretty normal in the city. "It's called Keys disease and a lot of people wear it as a badge," Wilder said. "It's not necessarily looked upon as bad."
