Created: February 18, 2021 05:20 PM ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Senior citizens were among the first group eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine as part of group 1A in mid-December. We're now in week 10 of the vaccine rollout process, and many seniors still have not been able to secure a vaccine appointment. For some seniors, that's 10 weeks of sitting on the state phone line, 10 weeks of unanswered questions, and 10 weeks of feeling cast aside. Lifespan is an advocacy group known for being a voice for seniors in times of need. The group put out a tweet Thursday saying "Beyond Frustrated. 1,000 older adults on our #vaccine list & we are unable to get them appts despite weeks of advocacy. Who died from #COVID? Older adults."
