Police, the ambulance service and fire crews all attended the incident on St Albans Road E between the junctions for Great North Road and Heyford Way. Pictures from the scene at around 2pm today (Wednesday, May 19) showed the B6426 St Albans Road E completely shut over the railway bridge, around 300 metres north of Hatfield Railway Station. Traffic is still slow on the A1000, Great North Road and Beaconsfield Road on the approach to the area where the incident took place.
