Midwest Communications PEORIA, Ill. — The Illinois Department of Public Health’s (IDPH) Region 2, which encompasses Peoria; Tazewell; and Woodford counties, rolling seven-day positivity rate continues to remain below 10%. It’s the sixth day in a row the region has been below the 12% threshold, and it now sits at 9.7% for a second consecutive day. Overall in the tri-county area, the Peoria City/County Health Department Friday announced six additional deaths due to COVID-19. Two residents of Peoria died from the virus: a male in his 70s who resided at University Rehab and another male in his 70s who resided at Sharon Elms.
