Lafayette Police have given the all clear at the Bertrand Drive campus of South Louisiana Community College after a bomb threat Thursday that prompted an evacuation. Brian Taylor, a 58-year-old SLCC student, was arrested at about noon Thursday and charged with false communication of a bomb threat on a school, said police spokesperson Sr. Cpl. Bridgette Dugas. SLCC closed the campus for the remainder of Thursday "out of caution." Staff and students waiting outside the building were notified to work or have class remotely. "Police are on scene to sweep the buildings after a bomb threat was made," said Christine Payton, communications and marketing director for the college.
