STAFF REPORT Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest is now home to Pennsylvania's largest and most advanced Emergency Department. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Monday at the hospital in Salisbury Township. The project includes an expanded adult emergency department, new observation unit and trauma facilities. According to a press release, the next phase of construction currently underway includes an expanded children’s ER. “Everything you need during an emergency is right here,” said David Burmeister, DO, Lehigh Valley Health Network Chair of Emergency and Hospital Medicine. “This plan has multiple patient-centered additions and efficiencies built into it, including major diagnostic testing, laboratory and trauma enhancements. Everything for providing acute care for our patients is available within this facility.”
