$2M grant sparks fire prevention projects

A FireTech laboratory and improved fire break are in the works for Noosa thanks to $2 million in grants from the State Government.
More than $11 million has been approved for a range of Queensland projects that will help with the economic and social recovery in communities that were heavily impacted by last year's bushfires.
Noosa Shire Council will share in the funding with $1,894,000 approved to establish a FireTech Laboratory in Noosa $110,000 to help in reducing vegetation and fuel load on a several rural roads.
