Thousands of birders congregate at the popular Ottawa County birding site and other Northwest Ohio hot spots to get their fill of yellow-rumped warblers, ruby-crowned kinglets and warbling vireos during the birds' migration peak in April and May. To avoid a similar surge this year, birders will need a permit to access the boardwalk on selected days.
