Article content Five major oilsands operators have formed an alliance to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions at their sites by 2050, as the industry faces political and investor pressures to help Canada meet climate goals. The Oil Sands Pathways to Net Zero initiative, announced Wednesday, includes Suncor Energy, Canadian Natural Resources, Cenovus Energy, Imperial Oil and MEG Energy. The companies represent a combined 90 per cent of the oilsands’ production. They will work with the federal and provincial government and Indigenous leaders to achieve the goal.
