Malta garners grant from boat ramp improvements COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seven public access improvement projects received nearly $500,000 through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources Paddling Enhancement Grant. The primary goal of the program is to increase access and opportunities for hand-powered watercraft. The $75,000 grant for the village of Malta will be used to install a new ADA compliant canoe/kayak dock and improve lighting and the parking lot at the Malta Boat Ramp along the Muskingum River. Hocking College also received a $75,000 grant to install a new canoe/kayak launch and make lighting and parking lot improvements at Lake Snowden near Athens.
