On Tuesday, a deputy with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office stationed near mile marker 8 on Interstate 77 recorded a vehicle going 105 mph where the speed limit is only 65 mph, according to the Sheriff’s Office. When the deputy went to initiate a traffic stop, the deputy said that the driver accelerated, hitting 135 mph, began weaving in and out of traffic, almost caused other crashes, and, at times, was driving in the grass.
