Man shot, killed during party at Hickory event center defying governor’s order WSOCTV.com News Staff UP NEXT The owner of a Hickory event center where a man was gunned down early Sunday morning says Alcohol Law Enforcement agents visited the club two weeks ago to warn him about being open so late. The shooting happened at the Stump Event Center in the Mountain View community at around 1 a.m., which is well after North Carolina’s curfew to slow the spread of COVID-19. Breaking Hickory- a homicide investigation is underway at a club called the Stump after two people were shot outside. A 34-year old man died in the parking lot after being struck by gunfire.
