Biodiversity is the variety of all life on Earth and we all must play our part in helping to halt this decline – for the benefit of this and future generations.
Data plays an important part in conserving biodiversity - it tells us more about our natural assets, which gives greater resilience to habitats and communities. High quality, current and accessible biodiversity data is essential to underpin policy and land use planning towards sustainable outcomes for the environment and biodiversity. The species data landscape in England covers all types of marine, freshwater and terrestrial species.
