Marion Technical College celebrates opening of downtown campus Just in time for Marion Technical College's 50th anniversary, students, staff, board members and community leaders gathered Thursday to celebrate another milestone: the opening of the college's downtown campus. After a five-month delay, the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Marion Tech Downtown on the second floor of the Fisher Building. An event was originally planned for December when the satellite location first opened, but was canceled due to rising COVID-19 cases. President Ryan McCall opened the ceremony, saying he got the idea for a downtown campus three years ago as a way to make college more accessible.
