SARASOTA – Marlon Brown was still trying to find his way around City Hall in Tallahassee when the head of the transportation planning department was forced to resign. Shortly afterward, the assistant chief quit in protest. Fresh out of Georgia Tech, and three months off his flight from Atlanta, there Brown was: the last remaining member of the city of Tallahassee and Leon County’s transportation planning department. “I busted my butt to make sure that division did not fail,” Brown said. “The good thing about it, I was single at the time. I could be there until 8 o’clock at night making sure that the i’s were dotted and t’s were crossed for the weekend.”
