A North Iowa man wanted for sexually abusing a child in Mason City has been arrested in Minnesota.
Mason City Police say 35-year-old Nathaniel Pearce of Mason City was apprehended in Shakopee, Minnesota, Thursday after an arrest warrant was issued Monday, May 17th charging him with two counts of continuous sexual abuse of a child. Pearce has been extradited back to Cerro Gordo County and is being held on $50,000 cash bond.
The case against Pearce began May 5th when police were called to do a welfare check on a child at a home on North Madison Avenue. The Iowa Department of Human Services was also called in and a criminal investigation began.
