Mass. reports 58,254 new COVID-19 vaccinations

The number of coronavirus vaccinations administered in Massachusetts rose by 58,254 to 6,907,827, state officials reported Wednesday.
The number of new vaccinations was greater than on Tuesday, when 56,959 were reported.
The total number of shots administered amounted to 84.1 percent of the 8,215,860 doses shipped to providers in the state so far, the Department of Public Health said.
The total shots administered included 3,857,773 first shots and 2,823,166 second shots of the Moderna and Pfizer two-shot vaccines. It also included 226,888 shots of the Johnson & Johnson one-shot vaccine.
