A lot of people are planning to hit the road this summer, especially after being cooped up throughout the pandemic. Before you hit the road, here are a few Massachusetts summer construction projects that could impact your plans: The Massachusetts Department of Transportation is replacing eight bridges along the Mass Pike between Southborough and Westborough as a part of the state's "Acceler-8" program.Commuters will cross an old bridge on Friday and then a new one on Monday morning, meaning traffic will be impacted on eight weekends from June 18 through August 16.Crews are also in the final stages of resurfacing I-290 in Worcester and Shrewsbury this summer. That work happens on weekdays but during off-peak hours. For those traveling in Boston, the North Washington Street Bridge replacement project is picking up. Most of the new bridge is expected to be constructed before November.Currently, a temporary bridge is carrying one lane outbound to Charlestown and two lanes inbound to Boston.
