Kemal AKISHEV (1924-2003) was born in Pavlodar region. He was a graduate of the Kirov Kazakh State University. He helmed the Zhetysu, North Kazakhstan, and South Kazakhstan archeological expeditions and headed several archeological departments at several universities.
