(WBTV) - As a winter blast comes through the WBTV viewing area, shelters are expanding capacity in Mecklenburg County for the homeless population. Roof Above has extended its Day Services Center hours, which are 7:30 a.m. – 4 p.m. during the week and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. on weekends and holidays. These extended hours include access to restrooms, hand washing stations, and outside radiated heaters, all of which meet Mecklenburg County Public Health guidelines.
