MediaTek said in a statement that the new modem and the chipset series will enable it to facilitate the transition to 5G-NR for a wide range of applications that require long-lasting and efficient battery life, such as wearables, light-weight augmented reality (AR) devices, Internet of Things (IoT) modules, and devices built with edge AI in mind.
