"There will be no change in our mask-wearing requirements during the school day and after-school activities," the newsletter said. "In the Melrose Public Schools, all students and staff will continue to wear masks throughout the school day through June 18, 2021." The district said it would re-evaluate over the summer. Subscribe Gov. Charlie Baker is scheduled to speak at 11 a.m. regarding the state's reopening. It is widely expected he provides an update on face coverings. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention last Thursday said fully vaccinated people on longer need to wear masks indoors or outdoors, but the guidance did not lift any local mandates.
