Meridian Twp. police officers placed on leave pending use-of-force investigations MERIDIAN TWP. – An undisclosed number of police officers are on leave while officials review their actions during an arrest this week. Police responded to the 2000 block of Grand River Avenue on Wednesday afternoon for a retail fraud complaint and arrested a suspect in a parking lot, Meridian Township officials said in a news release. A witness captured the arrest on video and gave it to police officials. "Concerns were identified by the Meridian Township Police Department regarding the level and manner of force and how it was used to arrest the suspect," officials said in the release, noting criminal and internal investigations are underway.
