Milestone reached on Avonmouth and Severnside flood scheme South Gloucestershire Council has said that the first stage of the £80M Avonmouth and Severnside Enterprise Area Ecology Mitigation and Flood Defence Project has been completed. The council is delivering the scheme in partnership with Bristol City, the Environment Agency and West of England Combined Authority with joint venture of Bam Nuttall and Mott MacDonald (BMMjv) undertaking work on site. Funding of £63m has come from the West of England Local Enterprise Partnership, administered by the West of England Combined Authority. The other funding sources are the Government’s Flood Defence Grant in Aid, and Local Levy raised by the Wessex Regional Flood and Coastal Committee.
