MILFORD — Police reacted to nearly 100 alleged incidents of distracted driving as part of their efforts for the recent “U Drive. U Text. U Pay” nationwide enforcement campaign, the department said Monday.
During the initiative, which spanned the month of April, officers “addressed 99 violations,” police said in an email.
The “U Drive. U Text. U Pay” enforcement effort is “a national high-visibility enforcement campaign for National Distracted Driving Awareness Month in April” that is “held in partnership with state and local law enforcement and the U.S. Department of Transportation’s National Highway Traffic Safety Administration,” according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.
