The state is giving away $1 million and one college scholarship to vaccinated Ohioans every Wednesday for five weeks in a row starting May 26, through Gov. Mike DeWine's Vax-A-Million campaign. The public outreach campaign is meant to entice more people to get the COVID-19 shot. As of Friday, 6,224 (a little more than 14%) of people in Holmes County had at least a first dose. Nearly 31% (16,523) of Ashland County residents are vaccinated with at least one doze. And in Wayne County, almost 34% of the population (39,198 people) are either fully vaccinated or have started the process.
