Moderate magnitude 4.4 quake hits 76 km northeast of Calama, Chile late at night

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) reported a magnitude 4.4 quake in Chile near Calama, Provincia de El Loa, Antofagasta, only 24 minutes ago. The earthquake hit late at night on Wednesday 21 July 2021 at 11:29 pm local time at an intermediate depth of 139 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake might be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review data and refine their calculations, or as other agencies issue their report.
A second report was later issued by the United States Geological Survey, which listed it as a magnitude 4.4 earthquake as well.
