Premium Content Subscriber only A minerâs union has slammed a companyâs âsmoke screenâ response to findings released about a Queensland mine disaster. Part two of the Queensland Coal Mining Board of Inquiryâs report into the Grosvenor mine explosion was tabled in parliament on Monday. The report found mine owner Anglo American repeatedly subjected Grosvenor miners to an âunacceptable level of riskâ because senior management failed to reduce production rates. After the report was tabled, Anglo American announced it would invest a further $5 million to fund underground mining research to improve the industryâs knowledge in certain technical areas.
