However, the Met department has given us some hope as it predicted that the monsoon rainfall may pick up across the State in the next few days. IMD Bengaluru division’s director CS Patil said, “A circulation lies over north-interior Tamil Nadu and neighbouring areas. On Monday, south-interior Karnataka experienced fairly widespread rainfall whereas coastal Karnataka and north-interior parts of the State experienced scattered rainfall. Kollegal received a maximum of 8 cm rainfall followed by 7 cm in Pavagada and Anekal. A yellow alert has been issued for heavy rainfall at isolated places till July 8 at Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan, Kodagu, Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada till July 9. Meanwhile, Belagavi, Dharwad, Bidar, Kalaburagi and Yadgir districts will be under yellow alert till July 7. Bengaluru is likely to experience rainfall for the next few days.”
