More deaths in AC, Roane Oakridger New coronavirus cases leaped in Tennessee in the week ending Sunday, rising 24.2% as 8,471 cases were reported. The previous week had 6,822 new cases of the virus that causes COVID-19. In Anderson County, the Tennessee Department of Health website showed Monday morning that although active COVID-19 cases were down to 86, more deaths had been reported in the past week. The total since the state Health Department began keeping track of the deaths is now 171 in Anderson County. Likewise, in Roane County the death total has increased to 101 although active cases total only 55 as of Monday morning.
