JOHOR will consider increasing its import of vegetables if the current hot weather persists and affects the production of crops. State unity, trade and consumer affairs committee chairman Dr Chong Fat Full said the supply of vegetables in the state remained stable for now. “We have not reached the point where demand for vegetables is higher than supply. “If that happens, we will turn to China, India and Thailand to increase domestic supply. “We will continue to monitor the situation to ensure there is adequate supply of vegetables for the whole state, ” he told the media in Ulu Tiram, Johor.
