Nationwide, Caversham READING EAST'S MP has spoken out following the news that Nationwide bank is set review its closure of its branch in Caversham - the only bank left in the entire town. The bank had decided to close its doors in April, however dispute over the closure from disgruntled locals has meant that Nationwide, who claimed a loss in footfall was the reason for the closure, has agreed to renew its decision. Helen Lambert, chairman of the Caversham and District Residents Association (CADRA), said: "CADRA is in correspondence with the Nationwide and asked to join the meeting with Building Society Managers.
