Islamabad January 21, 2021 Islamabad:Under the new PhD Policy, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) has allowed universities to give admission to BS graduates in the PhD programmes provided they meet the criteria of ‘Preparedness’ and ‘Commitment’ set by the universities. This was stated by Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Tariq Banuri while addressing a news conference here on Wednesday. He said that the new Undergraduate Education Policy 2020 and the PhD Policy is aimed at bridging the gap between the education system and the industry needs. “The new Undergraduate Education Policy 2020 and the PhD Policy are aimed to protect students’ right to acquire quality education and to increase the value of higher education degrees nationally and internationally,” he said while talking to media persons.
