I think in the coming days, and weeks, the intelligence about what iran may have done in this is going to be so critical. I think it assume point right now to make sure we have the most uptodate and accurate reporting. When that Wall Street Journal article came out that suggested iran not just supported or financed gave technical know how to hamas in terms of how to carry this attack out, but actually greenlit the operation and was perhaps involved in the planning and direction of the operation, that would be a very different threshold. Now it is important to emphasize that our reporting, nbc news reporting from u. S. Officials ive spoken to nbc news it just so far, they have not seen evidence to corroborate that. It is important to let our viewers know about that, because it is not as iran is not involved. As you suggested iran for years has taken off this mantle of being a pro palestinian power in the region, yet obviously finances, supports, and provides technical know including hezbollah and southern lebanon, it includes groups in gaza like the Ministry Jihad and hamas, and also no Rocket Controls and certainly supports a lot of militias in that country, at four years were fighting the americans. And as well in places like yemen and syria. So there is no doubt that iran has taken this position of being the primary financier, supporter, Logistical Support or if you will for a lot of these Militant Groups. It would be different to see iran coordinate and direct specific attacks against israel. That is something in gaza and certainly elsewhere in lebanon in the territories, had not been the case before to see palestinian groups responding to direct orders from iran over what kind of operational specific tactics to be used against israel. So it would be a new threshold even, but take a walk with me on this path of what if. If in fact theyre able to corroborate this reporting that iran was as involved as Wall Street Journal is implying they were, what happens then . Then you have a possibility of direct conflict here that could have never imagined. Iran is not having any friends in the region, in fact they have more enemies than friends in the region. Israel does not have that many friends in the region. They have more enemies than friends. When you think about the possible direct conflict that these nations could be facing, if in fact this reporting is corroborated, and what this war had become. And you certainly know as well as anyone, yasmin, iran has been subject of covert operations by american intelligence, Israeli Intelligence, for years. The iranians have even pointed the finger at american and Israeli Intelligence being behind many of the attacks that have taken place against nuclear scientists, and even more explicitly as america has admitted the killing of who in some ways oversaw the Proxy Umbrella across the region and various factions that were under Militant Groups that were under its control. If iran is proving to be involved in this direct operation, then the question really shifts to what is the United States prepared to do with his allies in the region. United states has countries like saudi arabia, united emirates, sometimes a lot of capabilities across the region. With a United States go into or would israel carry out direct overt Military Operations against iran in response to this attack . That is not a question i can certainly answer. It is certainly a question im sure lot of Security Analyst would be looking at, in whether or not israel would be able to carry out a kind of attack.
