Biden released a Statement Saying make no mistake, hamas leaders will pay for these had crimes, and we will keep working around the clock for a deal to secure the release of the remaining hostages. Nbc news correspondent, Matt Bradley, has more from Tel Aviv. Reporter it has been like this for hours. It looks like Hundreds Of Thousands of people converging right in the center of Tel Aviv in what is kind of israels answer to the pentagon. They are hoping they have an incredibly loud protest. And it really is loud. Theyre hoping its heard in the halls of power. Now their main demand . The israeli Government Sign on to some kind of a deal with hamas that would free the hostages and bring some measure of peace to the gaza strip. This would bring home those remaining hundred hostages, only a few dozen of whom are considered to be alive. What has energized the crowd so much more tonight than in previous months of protest at the same location . The murder of six young people in Hamas Custody or the custody of their Partner Group in the gaza strip. This is outraged. They really indicate the notion for so many people saying this for months that there is no military solution to freeing these hostages. Even e though Benjamin Netanyahu and his right wing munsters have been saying they need to punish hamas and end their rule on the gaza strip, and that is the only way to free the hostages. So far only a handful of hostages have been released that way by military force. The majority have been through some kind of deal. The killing of these hostages in the last day or two has vindicated this argument that there needs to be a deal and that is why youre seeing so many people out in the streets. Now this is not going to end tonight. The organizers want to see a full on nationwide Strike Tomorrow including various municipal governments that have already signed on. And even at the international airport. The gateway to israel will be closed starting at 8 00 a. M. Local time tomorrow. There is a demonstration that the organizers are hoping wont end any time soon. But also to ending the war, its been depp stating here in the city of michigan. And the as well as urban american population. We all want peace. We all want safety for the palestinian people and the israeli people as well. And my heart absolutely goes out to those who have loved nice. It will show you how difficult it is to negotiate, you know, with Bad Faith actors and terrorist organization. Its a devastating Scene And News to wake up to this morning. Switching gears to the election. Re¢ polling in your state shows harris has a small lead. It will be super tight in michigan. It always seems to be the way. What does she need to do to maintain the momentum she has built up through the connection and that she wants to bottle for the next 65 days . I think that Kamala Harris needs to do what shes doing right now, you know, which is doing the work, showing up, talking about all her policies that are going to improve the lives and really build that had contract that we know exists. He wants you to abolish the care act. And even the right to organize. He joked with Elon Musk about firing striking workers, even in the private sector, right . So i think its the contrast about somebody who is very, very good for the middle class and everyday americans verses Donald Trump who only wants to help billionaires and frankly enrich himself and his family as well. Hes talked about it being tied up, right . My race, the day before its 2022. All the polls had me tied in my race. Ultimately i won by nine points. Governor whitmer won by 10. 5 points. Benson won by 14 points. Why . Because we had Record Voter Turnout and engagement, and we had the highest rates of young voters as well in 2022. Thats what we need, excitement, enthusiasm. We have all that now. We just need to see it through The End. I was going to say on the issue of engagement, enthusiasm, you thought of it specifically. Have you seen the tangible shift since Vice President harris replaced President Biden on top of the ticket . Well, with all due respect to President Biden, its like night and day, you know . There was there were a lot of people who didnt feel they wanted to get involved at that level. And ive seen how they and their friends have reacts. They cant wait to get her elected to president of the united states. Theyre very, very excited because they know she shares their values about making america better for them in the future. Its not about going back, its about moving forward. Whether it is Gun Safety issues, climate change, Reproductive Rights. Even eliminating student debt. These are things incredibly important to young voters. I think they know that, and that is why they will show up for Kamala Harris in Election Day in michigan before that because we have no reason after the key voting as well as nine days of early voting. Lets talk about the issue general . The legal complexities brought up by Donald Trump. The former president continues to push the Big Lie in an effort to sow doubts about our election and the election process. And he experienced this back in 2020. What is different now . The lead up to this election that we didnt have in the lead up to 2020 that could prevent a repeat of what happened. I guess more fundamentally, do you believe we will have a peaceful transfer of power if he loses in november . Well, i think we, perhaps we would cover in 2020, right . And so we have changed certain laws to our elections and theyre safe, secure, and accurate. How do we make sure all the processes work . Its things like understanding that, it literally anybody could take their slate and go through the postal service and send it to the senate for the Vice President to select. Thats not the case anymore. It needs to be transmitted officially through the office of the governor. Thats a change, right . We have made some changes as it pertains to how the board of canvassers work. As to how any election challenges have to go right to the Michigan Supreme Court as opposed to random courts around the state when it comes to certification. We have done a lot of things here in michigan to make sure some of the things that have happened, they cannot happen now. If they do, were ready, were prepared, and we have a plan. Well, just very quickly, very quickly. Due to the last part of the question now. Are you worried that put it this way. Do you think there will be a peaceful transfer of power if Donald Trump were to lose the election . I feel very confident that President Biden will peacefully transfer power to Vice President harris.
