He was well spoken and articulate and lied through the entire debate. Dodged questions about the 2020 election. They used to call bill Clinton Slick willy. He got a way with a lot. Because Tim Walz didnt Fact Check him and do his job as the debate opponent. It would have otherwise gone differently had we seen him correct it from time to time. What does this say about your policies when you have to lie about what you actually want to do . It says that you know better. And dont care. One of the most amazing things, he wants to regain the american Peoples Trust on the abortion issue. What are you talking about regain trust . Hour, just a few hours before the debate. Donald trump had a rally. He had a complete Word Salad News cons friends. People lose their mind they didnt have enough detail. He didnt bust out a coherent sentence. Can we just talk about the double standard . It is not the first time. It is why some democrats are really frustrated about the double standard for joe biden. You know . Remember him . And so, the double standard is amazing and shocking. People are much more concerned about their underlying relief and the facts. As long as we are not grading somebody on honesty and character, Jd Vance did just great and Tim Walz failed miserablely about correcting him. His lies about how there is a rule you are not supposed to Fact Check. Tim walz failed. He failed to correct these lies so clearly, Jd Vance is the winner. I agree with ron. That person has to take it easy in some respects but there are bigger louder things they could be doing. The tariffs issue. I have not heard nearly as much about that as i would like to. I guess the question is, look, we are talking about a race with a lot of people who made up their minds on one side or the other. And the question really becomes are you becoming those undecided. It is a narrow margin race. Im going to tell you having run. The things that we think motivate people to fill in that little Bubble And Slide that is often not the thing that motivates them. If you have to connect really directly. The fact that the economy is as strong as it is, and for the last four years, this White House has really not done a great job singing it from the rafters. You do not want to run a Victory Lap when so many people are suffering. I get that. And i said this before. Democrats are guilty of saying they are unwilling to sing happy birthday until every single child in america has a cup cake. And if you do not start singing there will be no cake. With all respect to maya. I live in the world where she is my mayor. I dont think the democrats are going for the undecideds anymore. After nine years, anyone who cant decide, i dont need to know what they think. They are going for the people who are decided but dont feel like voting. They are going for people who will vote to get them off the couch. Do it with bold policy. Tell us what you know. There are two kinds of undecided. As you say, there are people deciding who to vote for and people deciding whether to vote. Exactly. And if they do, they know it will go one way or the other. I think you have to take different approaches with each of them. You have to motivate your own side. And i think they are focusing more han that than focusing on changing anybodys mind. They have the momentum now as of this morning. The Jobs Number of was unequivocally strong wages are growing faster than inflation now. And have been for 18 months. You see it in peoples purchasing power. Over 160 trillion. The dow hit an all time high today. They are the worst communists i have ever seen. I agree with you on every single point. And i talked about this on morning joe. This is where i wish they would just connect the dots. Everything is right. But things still cost a lot of money when you go to a restaurant and that is not going to change. What i would like is democrats can start saying out loud, in a care economy, we are trying to pay people more. Right . We are low wage workers getting 20 an hour. They are getting benefits. Yes. In some instances there is Price Gouging and corporate greed. When we raise wages that means things will cost more. You have the same people saying i didnt believe that cost 26. I dont want to dominate. Dont worry. No chance of that. In california where they raised the Minimum Wage for fast food workers, 15 an hour, 20 an hour. There are now more fast food Workers Today than prior to the Wage Hike and mcdonalds is telling Combo Meals for 50 so it is not a universal truth every time you raise Wages Prices go up. That was true in the 70s. But how often are we just in our daily lives people are going out for a burger and a beer and going oh my gosh, i cant believe it Cost X now. And that ends up dominating the conversation. The prices are still high. The democrats have an opening to come say this is about corporate greed. We are also a country of small businesses and we have to be aware when we talk business, business also affects the little guy. Regulations are really difficult. We have to find a way to see all of them. Latest census data. Start up companies have created 7. 4 million jobs. I agree with every Data Point you have. You know who doesnt . The vibe in the economy and how people feel. So we have to start thinking about what is it that are making people feel this way. This is what obama faced in 2012, a recovery on paper people were not feeling. He was lucky to have this Aristocrat Romney to draw the visual contrast for the voters to see, you are running against a millionaire at birth who cut his own taxes and has a golden toilet. And Kamala Harris is the american success story. That is the narrative they need to be keeping. And people are not feeling as bad as they were a few months ago. They are starting to add up into a feeling that is going to help. They are responding to that when they hear about it. I dont know that we are completely disagreeing. We can try harder. I think what i mean is of course they have to do a great job of singing their own prizes about their success story. Of course. The thing that i find so frustrating about this kind of debate. About how bold they are being or not is it doesnt matter what she does. She gets criticized. That was my point about being a Black Asian woman married to a jewish guy. I also agree with we are, yes, you have to get the base. There are a lot of things to get the base. And she has the base. The energy is real. But it goes back to one of the things i think she is doing so well. She is talking about the future and when she is talking about the future, she is talking about small businesses. Hide care. And the cost of housing. The boldst comes in what am i going to fight for. That is what turns on voters. When you think about the three buckets she could go after, we saw her on the stage with Liz Cheney, next week, we have Cassidy Hutchinson and other former trump aides. Who did they pull from . When Liz Cheney coheadlines an event with Kamala Harris, i want to know who is on her Guest List . Two things. There is a small number of potential voters that. Basically people like Liz Cheney. Former republicans sick of it and looking for validation for those feelings and she is a terrific example of that. That Kamala Harris is bringing people together and Donald Trump is not. He is getting liberals like Tulsi Gabbard and rfk. She got taylor swift. Thats a big deal for a certain slice of the electorate. Young females. She need to go after young men in a way that it is just not resonating. I agree with you. Its amazing the success Donald Trump has had with young white. We watch this interview a few weeks ago. Black males two by The Way. It is successful how he is peeling them off. Part of it is that group of people dont feel like democrats are speaking to them. Yes. That is a problem. But how is Donald Trump speaking to them . He is selling racism. Peddling xenophobia. If he had policies that helped nonmillionaires they wouldnt shut up about them. It is saying something to them. And i dont think it is just the very nothingtive things. Lord of the Dude Bros. Everyone is trying to be joe rogan. That is something they are responding to. It is not something the democrats are offering. They are not talking to young men. Their response is much more spark than i would have expected but not entirely surprising. And,. Hold on, im with steve here. Just by us Min Mining them doesnt mean their votes dont count. I believe. Im the parent of one. So i believe that they feel like in a universe where inclusivity is so important, which it is. They are not only not seen, but they are attacked and i know that is not The Way democrats feel. But this is an opportunity to go speak to them and say i know you care about the economy and reproductive rights. Yes, but we need democrats to start to do that. They are the Party Fighting for these young men. Because young men care about roe v. Wade and Student Loan Debt forgiveness. They have a lot to offer and they are not making the case. Then why is it not working at all . Exactly right. They do feel put upon by The Rapid Social Changes that are taking place. And the fear of being canceled or having a particular Point Of View that is maybe more traditional than we would expect from 20yearold white boys. I wouldnt call it a 1950s style feel what they are going to, but there are challenges. And they do feel to a certain extent as if they are targeted. I talk to a group of kids from records this week. And they said that students dont feel like they can express views. Immediately people will say you are xenophobic, you are the worst. And you are toxic. And again, im not saying these boys are the greatest but im saying she wants every vote that counts and there is a way to think of every demographic out there and say how do we bring them in . So heres the problem. I agree. Everybody. True democracy means we are having the debates we need to have. We are understanding the experiences of all of our people. And everyone vying for Anybodys Vote is able to figure out how to talk to all of those demographics and that includes young men who are white. And black. And everything. My point is here i think we have to acknowledge that there is something going on in this culture that is deeply unhealthy and dangerous. And unless, it is very difficult to put it all simply on a politician running for office of what some of this undercurrent is. The reality of Rape Culture is quite real. Now when i say Rape Culture, i dont mean every young man is raping somebody. But the reality of Sexual Violence and other forms of violence are quite real. The reality of whats happening with the attacks on having programs that say we have to find a way to understander the experiences of others is quite real. The only reason im having trouble with this conversation. Its not the premise we should be vilifying. It is that it is also fundamentally a problem in our democracy that we are this deeply divided and that the solless that some seek is in the permission to be something other than accepting of the hard conversations on all sides. But in particular, what does it mean to say that Kamala Harris who has in my calculation worked so hard to be a unifying candidate, is falling short. Nobody is going anywhere.
