MSP: alcohol suspected in serious crash Saturday : vimarsana

FAYETTE TOWNSHIP — Michigan State Police are investigating a crash in the twilight hours Saturday in Jefferson Township. 
A news release stated troopers were dispatched to the intersection of Jonesville Road and Jermaine Street on the outskirts of the city of Jonesville around 5:15 a.m. Saturday for a one-vehicle crash. 
A preliminary investigation showed the driver of the vehicle, a county resident, was heading east on Jonesville Road and failed to negotiate a curve before going off the roadway and striking a tree. 
The driver was trapped inside the vehicle and had to be extricated by the Jonesville Fire Department before being airlifted to Michigan Medicine in Ann Arbor for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening injuries.
