SEVIERVILLE â The list of candidates for this yearâs municipal elections continues to take shape, as most incumbents have returned petitions to run again and so have some challengers. Would-be candidates have to pick up petitions from the Sevier County Election Commission to run for office, and they have to return a petition by noon on Feb. 18 to be considered for this yearâs ballots. After that date, the commission will meet to verify that each candidate had at least 25 signatures from people registered to vote in their city. Candidates who meet those qualifications will be on the ballots for this yearâs elections.
