Tweet Share The COVID-19 pandemic resulted in the majority of live music events from mid-March 2020 through the end of the year getting canceled or moving online. As the number of vaccinated individuals increases slowly but surely and Metro prepares to lift many of its restrictions on gatherings, both club listings and festival bookings — mostly with pandemic precautions in place — are coming back strong as well. Musicians Corner, the free festival that launched in Centennial Park in 2010, went online in the fall with its Sundown Series. Today, word has come that the fest will return to the park this year. Mark your calendar for a three-day return celebration June 11 through 13. The Friday festivities will be from 5 until 9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday will be from noon until 6 p.m. The September Sundown series will return this fall as well; times haven’t been announced, but performances are set for each Thursday and Friday, Sept. 2 through Oct. 1 — plus another three-day special run Sept. 23 through 25 in conjunction with AmericanaFest, which runs Sept. 22 through 25.
