Mutt of the Week: Cracker Jack This past weekend, our Mutt of the Week went for a wildflower hike with the Underdog Animal Rescue and Rehab team and friends from the Canyonlands Field Institute. Once she arrived at the trailhead, Cracker Jack became a crowd favorite. Cracker Jack was friendly and excited to meet anyone that passed the group on the trail and was good at leading the group to shade to relax. Sometimes dogs need a break from outside the shelter walls to show their true personality. We do our best to place those that need extra attention into foster care, but walks, hikes, and off-ranch activities also give Underdogs a break and a time to relax and get some good one-on-one cuddle sessions in. If you work from home or work in a dog friendly place, consider fostering for just the day or taking a pup on a hike: There are lots of ways to get involved with Underdog to both make you and the pup feel good.
