N.C. town to use cannon to scare off pesky vultures David Matthews A North Carolina town is preparing to fire cannons in an attempt to rid itself of a group of vultures which have taken up residence on the town’s rooftops for several weeks. According to the Charlotte Observer, the town of Bunn, which is just northeast of Raleigh, will start blasting on Dec. 22 and last about 10 days. “An automated propane cannon will be temporarily installed on the roof of the gymnasium of Bunn High School,” the town said in a Dec. 15 Facebook post. “They will be programming the cannon to fire in the morning, afternoon and evening when vultures are likely to be roosting.”
