N.J. man charged with attempted murder after double shooting at apartment complex Updated 2:00 PM; A 36-year-old Monmouth County man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after shooting two men outside an apartment building in Freehold Borough last month, authorities said Joseph Lyons, of Ocean Township, was arrested with the help of the United States Marshals Regional Task Force and sent to to the Monmouth County jail, the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office said Wednesday. The shooting took place about 8 p.m. on March 30 outside The Continental at Freehold, an affordable-housing building on Jackson Street, close to downtown Freehold Borough. Both victims were taken to a local hospital, where they were treated for injuries not considered life-threatening and released.
